Hand-Tying Workshop (SIG)

February 20 @ 18:00 - 19:00

We are excited to present our Hand-Tying Workshop! Hand-tying is an important skill that surgeons use in the OR and like suturing, it’s best to start practicing early to build your skill and dexterity. We will be going over how to do the one-handed tie (which is the most commonly used one) and if time allows, the two-handed tie. To clarify, this technique is different than the suture tying technique using a needle-driver (you only use your hands for hand-tying).

We are lucky to be joined by Dr. David de Launay, a 1st year general surgery resident at uOttawa, and Camille Zeitouni, a uOttawa MS4 interested in surgery, who be showing us how to hand-tie.

Date: Tuesday February 20

Time: 6:00-7:00pm

Location: RGN2149

*You will get 1 SIG hour for attending this event.
